Terms of Service
Last updated: March 18, 2026
Short version: BCut grants you a personal license to use the software. You don't own the software itself. Free users get watermarked exports; paid users unlock full-quality exports.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using BCut, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use BCut.
2. License Grant
BCut grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the software for personal or commercial video editing purposes. This license is per-person and may be activated on up to 3 devices per license key.
You do not acquire ownership of BCut or any intellectual property rights by purchasing a license. You are purchasing the right to use the software.
3. Free and Pro Tiers
BCut is available in two tiers:
- Free: Full detection and editing features. Video export at 480p and 720p with a BCut watermark.
- Pro: Everything in Free, plus 1080p export without watermark and FCPXML export for Final Cut Pro and other professional editors. Requires a valid license key.
4. Payments and Billing
All payments for BCut Pro are processed by Polar, which acts as our merchant of record. Polar handles payment processing, invoicing, and applicable taxes on our behalf.
BCut Pro is available as:
- Monthly subscription — billed monthly, cancel anytime
- Annual subscription — billed yearly, cancel anytime
- Lifetime license — one-time payment, valid indefinitely
Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by region due to local taxes applied by Polar.
5. Refunds
Because BCut is a digital product that is delivered instantly, we are not obligated to provide refunds. However, if you experience a significant issue that prevents you from using the software, contact us at hello@bcut.app within 14 days of purchase and we will work with you to resolve it, including issuing a refund if appropriate.
6. Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell BCut or your license key
- Share your license key with others outside your personal use
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or watermarks
- Use BCut in any way that violates applicable laws
7. Intellectual Property
BCut, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of its creator. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
Your video content remains yours. BCut does not claim any rights to the videos, audio, or transcripts you process with the software.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
BCut is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your video files. BCut processes files locally on your machine and we are not liable for any data loss.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BCut and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the software.
10. Termination
We may revoke your license if you violate these Terms. You may stop using BCut and deactivate your license at any time through the app's settings. Upon termination, your right to use BCut Pro features ceases, but the free tier remains available.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BCut after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
